Before we collected Augusto we had a session with the social worker that is handling the case (l) and one of is nannies (r) in the judge's court. Then we left for the children's home.

We had three presents for him. The first was a ball, and the second a little book of a rabbit called Nijntje that our friend Trudie had given us at Schiphol airport. The third one we did not give right away. Other little inhabitants of the home reverted to the order of the day.

The ball came out as a real ice breaker. Holding tight on the Nijntje book Augusto is testing his future parents on reactive and dissipative capacities.

Finally, the third present, a coloring book with felt pens was unpacked. Dad has already built up enough trust with Augusto to be given custody of the ball and the Nijntje book.
